Hello and welcome.
Today I’m sharing a card I created for CAS Colours & Sketches – Challenge #577. This challenge featured a sketch, and I was immediately drawn to its clean layout and strong diagonal element.
I stayed quite true to the sketch, using the diagonal panel as a visual anchor while keeping plenty of open space for a clean and simple look. The sketch made it easy to balance pattern and white space without the design feeling too busy.
For this card, I chose a soft, calming colour palette with light blues and a pop of yellow. The cloud patterned paper helped set the scene, so I added a layered cloud and sunshine focal image to tie everything together. I especially like how the sunshine peeking out from behind the cloud adds a gentle sense of warmth and optimism to the card.
This was a fun and relaxing sketch to work with and one that lends itself beautifully to simple designs. I can easily see myself using this layout again for other occasions.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my card. I always appreciate you visiting my little corner of the crafting world.
Happy crafting
Jules
